IMPORTANT WARNING - CHESTNUTS FROM 10/1/13 MARKET

Dear Patrons of the Cobblestone Farm Market,
We wish to extend our most sincere apologies regarding the false information about the chestnuts that grow on the grounds of Cobblestone Farm. The information that we received regarding the trees was that the nuts were edible, but indeed they are not. They are called horse chestnuts and are quite toxic. Though the information on the internet indicates that ingesting these nuts is dangerous, the taste is so bitter that it is very difficult to swallow any. And the ill effects occur when swallowed. But to be safe, if you think you have eaten any, call your doctor.

If you took some home from the market or have picked some from the grounds, please throw them away! And please contact others who may not have received this information yet.

If you would like to contact us, please email mipevin@gmail.com

Thank you,
Cobblestone Farm Market Coordinating Team

Welcome to Cobblestone Farm Market!

A volunteer-operated Farmers Market for the whole community

Each Tuesday, a farmers market sprouts up on the lawn tc2000 trading of the historic Cobblestone Farm amidst the heirloom gardens and 19th Century Farmhouse museum.  Tables loaded with fresh, local food rest in the shadow of the striking three story oak timber frame barn complete farm animals.  You could not find a more unique market location!  At this living farm museum, you will find hens wandering amongst the shoppers, and curious goats stretching their soft muzzles over the fence.  The grassy setting is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a picnic while the kids play but, please, don't chase the rooster!

Browse for local seeds, vegetables and wildflower plants for your garden and shop for spring vegetables, eggs, honey, and tc2000 brokerage review bread from over 29 vendors.  Enjoy weekly events for adults and children - listen to a story, play in the drum circle, learn to fix a bike, or take a tour of the historic landmark Ticknor-Campbell Farmhouse.

FRESH:  Straight from the good, rich soil into your hands, this produce is as fresh and flavorful as it gets!  Our produce and prepared goods are made within 25-50 miles of Ann Arbor so they can be picked at peak ripeness and brought to you the same day.  You will find unique produce here that may not be in grocery stores.  Curious about how cook this  bounty?  Check out our recipes, and whenever trying a new one remember food rule #2 "Place a Bouquet of Flowers on the Table and Everything Will Taste Twice as Good."

HEALTHY:  When you buy produce at our market, you can be sure that the food is good for you, good for the people who grow it, and good for the land.  Our farmers use traditional production methods that maintain fertile soil, clean tc2000 for mac water and fresh air.  Prepared foods are free of GMO's and coffee is roasted locally with Fair Trade beans.  We ask our vendors to avoid refined sugar and use whole grains whenever possible.  Cobblestone Farm Market is zero-waste, so please, bring your own plate and cup.  (A zero-waste lifestyle ensures that discarded materials become future resources. It doesn’t require eliminating waste completely but reducing and reusing as much as possible, then recycling or composting the rest.)

LOCAL:  Every dollar spent at our market stays in the community, going to support local, independent farms and businesses. Our vendors sell their own products, so you can meet your farmer and know where your food comes from.

FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS:  Cobblestone Farm Market is committed to accessible prices for customers and to fair compensation for farmers and producers.  New for 2013, we now accept WIC Project Fresh, Senior Project Fresh/Market Fresh, and EBT/Bridge Card/SNAP.

A Neighborhood Market with a Mission
For more than 40 years only the ghosts of farmers have resided at Cobblestone Farm...but it took the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods to bring back the farmers.

New farmers market thriving at Cobblestone Farm
"Looking for a place to hang out and buy local produce? A new Ann Arbor farmers market may be the answer."

Two New Farmers Markets
"The Cobblestone Farm Market is a partnership between neighbors and the Cobblestone Farm Association, which manages tours and activities at the early-nineteenth-century homestead and will make the farm animals available for viewing during market hours."
by M.B. Lewis, Ann Arbor Observer; July 2012

Dixboro and Cobblestone: Ann Arbor's newest farmers' markets starting up soon
"The Cobblestone Farm Market...will be close enough to hear the roosters from the historic Cobblestone Farm next door, whose goats, chickens and heirloom gardens help re-create the agricultural past of the mid-1800s."
